1.Samsung NX Mini

This little mirrorless camera was made specifically with the selfie in mind! The NX mini contains a full 3-inch flip-up LCD touch screen that makes it easy to take selfies. And it’s just a great little camera that can fit right in your pocket.

2. Podo Bluetooth Camera

This little camera is a little bluetooth camera that has a magnet that helps it to stick and re-stick to any solid surface. It can be used with your iOS or Android devices. It’s cute and it’s small. It will retail fro $99 when they ship this fall.

3. CamMe Selfie App for IOS

CamMe app

Instead of buying a WHOLE new device, you can just use your phone. LOL. The CamMe app for iOS is great for the group selfie shot. All you have to do is gesture to the camera from up to 22 feet away and click. A great Android alternative is You Cam Perfect

4. The Olloclip

I know I’ve talked about this one before, but the wide angle lens that comes with this is perfect to help for get everyone in the frame. You should get one for fisheye lens alone.

5. Have someone else take the picture. LOL. This seems old fashion in our world of technology and do-it-yourselfness. But that’s what we used to do before the advent of selfie sticks and forward facing cameras. It worked. Right?

I understand why Disney management had to ban the sticks probably because of how many people misused it and maybe, have caused accidents or trouble through that item however, contrary to one of the comments above, selfie sticks do not hinder us from communicating with other tourist or strangers. It's just a matter of taking a photo on our own without disturbing others get their own too.

Let me share with you our trip to Gardens by the Bay (Singapore). It was a busy weekend at the location and a lot of tourists were exploring and taking photos of themselves. My mom and I wanted to have photos together but since we see how busy the others were, we didn't disturb them. Luckily, I had my selfie stick on my bag so that's what we used. A few minutes later, people have began speaking with us asking where I bought it. It was also engaging us to speak with total strangers. See!

The point is, the selfie stick was there to help us with something. It's just that people are too abusive. Who on earth would do selfie sticks on rides?! That's just wrong! Where's their common sense? But if Disney feels they had to ban it, maybe it was for a good reason.

These are some great ideas! We have a selfie stick but I also have a fish eye lens. I just recently got a bluetooth clicker to take pictures, but that bluetooth camera looks pretty cool too. I think I might need to get one of those.

I knew the "creativity" of the selfie stick phenomena would cause some concerns with amusement parks and such. I didn't think Disney would be first. I like the good ole option of asking someone but can I tell you that some people's pictures leave me without feet each time. I'm not sure how I manage to always snag the shortest person around. I have something like the Olloclip and I'm going to try the app out today.
