bills bills bills

If I wasn’t pregnant, I would hate my life right now.

The same nasty bill collector called today.  AGAIN.  Sometimes, if I don’t answer my phone, they call 4 times in one hour.  I decided to answer today, so they wouldn’t call anymore this week.(we can hope)

Last time, I got a fairly sympathetic bill collector lady.

This one……a bitch.

Sorry, I know she’s just doing her job, which is why I stayed on the phone as long as I did with her.

But JESUS!!!

I mean, like my Granddaddy said, you can’t get blood out of a turnip!

How many time/ways can I explain that I am unemployed, about to deliver a baby and will not be paying you until at the earliest January of next year???

I hate the, can you borrow the money question.

And threatening me with “this will be charged off soon and go on your credit,” is really laughable.  Like I told her, it’s the least of my worries right now.  I’ve been there, done that and managed to still live my life.  Before all of this, my credit was basically a beautiful thing.

But I hate not paying my bills. It goes against my nature.  I’m anal about it.  You should see my spread sheets.  But I’ve decided to just write this one off, because really, what can I do?  I might need my parents for something much more serious than a credit card bill come January if I can’t find a job.

Speaking of which, my ace in the hole job went away.  She filled the position.  DAMN IT!  Even though I had heard through the grapevine that the place was falling apart, it was a JOB.  A JOB!

Wading through the jobs on hot jobs, careerbuilders, and everywhere else I can find is not my idea of fun.  There are jobs that I qualify for but I can’t work right now! 🙁   Will these jobs still be there in a few weeks?? Will anyone really be hiring in December?   It’s a no win situation.

And that is all I have to say today.

It will all get better, before you know it baby boy will be here and the joys of being a mom will supercede all of your troubles.

Solution: Stop answering the phone and put this message on you voice mail

"Hi this is _____ I am not taking any calls related to bill collection at this time. Due to my recent lay off and pending childbirth (at any moment), I am unable to pay, borrow to pay or steal to pay a bill at this time. Please feel free to leave your information and I wll contact you once my situation is resolved, thanks for understanding. (disclaimer) Leaving more than one message will not make me call you back."

This will save you from repeating yourself for the one millioneth time because they are ruthless, plus it can't get any worst right now you know the consequence...I mean you are aware that you have'nt paid them and they have made you painfully aware of this fact also so screw it and them....

Now you may get a few back to back calls because I am sure they are gonna want the office to hear your message that you have provided for them so just chuckle and go about your day.

Problem solved :) .

DON'T LET THEM STEAL YOUR JOY!!!!! GG

My credit score is a joke... I've decided not to stress about it. One day I'll be in a better place to fix it, and so will you.

Don't sweat the creditors. I know it's hard not to when they're calling every four hours.. I just ignore numbers I don't recognize. And you know, sometimes they'll leave you alone even if you can only pay $5.00 a month. I have bills that I literally pay $10 a month on and that keeps them happy and out of my hair.

The economy is SHIT right now. My husband's been looking for work since JUNE. The job market is ridiculous. I hope something comes your way soon!! *hugs*

I also have a recently trashed credit score (thank you Mr. X!). It sounds like you have your priorities straight. Just take care of you so that you can take care of that baby.

They are not allowed to harass you. Get their name and turn them in to the BBB. Dave Ramsey has a whole section in his book about dealing with bill collectors. Also, you can change your phone number, as they've made a nuisance of themselves.
