Friday Randoms and Project 52:Week 18

Project 52: Week18
Project 52: Week 18

It’s been a busy week.

Kinda.

I worked. And learned a few disturbing things about a few co workers and managers. I am still trying to process it.  I can’t talk much about it because it involves litigation, but my goodness.  The things people do when backed into a corner. SMH.

And speaking of work, I’m still on night shift.   Apparently, my manager has hired three new folks.  Should I be flattered that it takes three to replace me?

I had a talk with a friend who I hadn’t seen in a minute about how I’m not dealing well with life right now.  She had been through the SAME thing but got off of nights just in time.  She gave me some advice that I’m putting into practice.  Hopefully it helps in the meantime….

I read some more…..it’s nice to read again.

I didn’t clean…..

I’m in the midst of trying to convince the husband we need a vacation. NOW. He doesn’t want to go on vacation with the in laws again, because where they want is too much. And besides, he only wants to go for 3 days.  What kind of vacation is 3 days?  I’m trying to convince him that a cruise, specifically a Disney Cruise is the answer. I contacted them and they will accommodate Pookah’s gluten free diet! All I have to do is send a Dr’s note and speak with the maitre d’  And they have built in babysitting……. #enoughsaid.

I got my plane ticket to BlogHer!  I’m so excited! That’s one more thing done on my check list.  The only things left are a bag to carry around, and a BlogHer Wardrobe…..

YIKES!

I’ve just discovered that I will be spending Mother’s Day with my Mother In Law…..

*crickets*

My thoughts on what direction I want this blog to take is coming together….just take a look at my photography blog.  Something like that only….bloggier( is that a word???)  The idea came from a reader…you know who you are….

I’m still thinking on the details.

Pookah has completely regressed in the potty training arena.  Even though I noticed this morning that he woke up with a completely dry diaper.

It’s time for potty training Boot Camp. The only question is which route to take.

AND, Pookah has finally gotten too big for me to rock to sleep.  This week, we’ve been getting him to go to sleep on his own laying down in HIS bed.  Not being rocked.  It takes about an hour for him to go on his own, but he is going.  With one of us laying on the floor by his bed….

DON’T LAUGH!!! It’s a process!!!! I figure soon, he’ll get used to it, and we’ll move to the chair…then the door, then out the door…you get the point!

Pookah has a birthday party to go to this weekend.  There is going to be a petting zoo!! Can’t wait to see his expression and to get photos!

And speaking of photos, I’ve been approached SEVERAL times in the last few weeks on taking photos of friends and their kids…..for money…..I’m scared for some reason.  I like being a hobbyist. I have NO intention of ever doing this professionally.

But on top of that, another friend of mine is putting together a spoken word event in the fall and she wants me to be the offical photographer of the event.

I’m.Not.Ready.

But when God shoves opportunities in your face, you can’t really turn them down can you?

Well, that’s all for now!

I hear you about Mother's Day. We have to break ours up into two weekends. Saturday we celebrate my day, Sunday I cook for our family for Mother's Day (day off my butt) and next Saturday we take out my mother in law.

Fingers crossed and prayers said that you get your nice vacation, put on days and a potty trained Pookah.

I, too, am leery of new and different things. The other day I was moaning about what I want to do "when I grow up" and how I don't think I'm smart enough to do it. My hubby told me that I should stop being afraid to succeed.

Your photos of your baby boy are beautiful. Even if you do not want to take photos as a job I think you should at least try doing some for friends. Think of it as saving for the cruise money, plus you did say you wanted to get better at all things photo. Practice makes perfect.
