Quality of Life

Project 52:Week 21

I’ve been really thinking about what it is that I REALLY want for my life right now. What really matters.

For me.

It started earlier this week when I finally met with my manager and she told me that moving to days any sooner than August wasn’t happening. And even then, it was iffy. Apparently, the position is mine….when she feels like moving me into it.

It set me to thinking about quality of life, and what quality I want mine to have.

I’ve marinated on it all week.

The fact is that I am not happy about 75% of the time. I spend about that much time either dreading going to work, getting ready to go to work, working or recovering from work.

That’s no way to live.

So, I’ve come to the conclusion that something has got to give before I loose all i’ve got.

So I asked C-Dub last night, while at work in the mist of some serious fuckery,if I could just quit.

Now.

He said do it.

Nice to have support when you need it huh?

So I’ll give her until August.

And then we’ll see……

I'm so happy for you. Your happiness is paramount. Do what works best for you and your family, because at the end of the day, nothing else matters.

I've been in that same place and had the same conversation with my husband. Quitting that job took a HUGE leap of faith for me personally (because I didn't have another one lined up) and it was my husband's understanding and support that gave me the push I needed. Within two weeks God blessed me a new position, in a new field, doing what I wanted to do. I haven't been unhappy at work since! Good luck to you!

GOOD FOR YOU!!!!! That's awesome! Life is too short to be miserable with a job you dislike.

Do it girl! That's what my husband told me! Do you! Your quality of life is so much more important than that job!

I SO remember that feeling-- I would actually get nauseated whenever I was about to take the cut off for work. I'm glad that's no longer the case.

Like everyone's said, it's wonderful that your husband is so supportive. I hope everything works out for you, whether it's getting the day shift or finding something else you're passionate about.
