My NEW Life….

IMG_4045

Last week, was eyeopening.

I don’t know if I can describe to you how it feels to simply be able to sit down for an uninterrupted hour and have lunch. To actually enjoy my lunch instead of mindlessly shoving it down my throat.

I don’t know how to explain to you how it feels to be able to drink as much water as I want AT my workstation.

I don’t know how to explain to you how it feels to be able to go the bathroom whenever I want.

I can tell you that sitting down all day is a wonderful thing.

I can tell you that getting home after work and having time to cook, play with pookah and do a little cleaning was wonderful. I felt like a different person, like I was living a different life.

I felt rested, in a good mood. Happy. While working.

I’ve only needed one cup of coffee a day…..

Of course, there are cons: getting up EVERY morning Monday through Friday. The fact that this week, I am going to be adding getting Pookah up and ready to go AND get to work on time to my morning routine. ( pray for me). I have to actually think about what I am going to wear every morning. I have a commute that I have to plot and plan for before I leave the house. I have to pack a lunch. I can’t be home if Pookah is sick.

The only thing that bothers me about my new job is that last little fact. Because last week, Pookah had a week long virus. It started with him vomiting at school Monday morning. Poor kid was then sick with diarrhea for the rest of the week. He would be fine in the morning, but come home in the evening with reports of messing up his clothes because he couldn’t make it to the bathroom in time. We finally got it under control on Friday. But by then, we were done and just kept him home. I know that if I had been only working 3 days that week, I would have just kept him home most of the week instead of trying to send him to school.

So the dilemma of being a working mom still doesn’t end. It just gets more complicated. Except that now, I have a manager who is a little more flexible. And a job that will let me use my PTO however I need to.

I think once I get my routine down, life will be great. Once we all get used to my new schedule, life will be even better.

Ahhhh. Life is good.

I swear, having a job that you love and that is conducive and aware that work is not your sole priority is beautiful. So happy that you are happier!

Life is beautiful! Once you find your groove, it will be even better.

Hugs to Pookah. Poor little guy. Glad he's better.
