our project 52 week 15: macro

macro photography

Taken with Canon 6D and Canon 100mm 2.8 lens

Settings: Aperture: f/4.5 Shutter Speed: 1/1250 ISO:6400

Macro Photography can be anything you want. I really really love to take photos of flowers, and I have to remind myself that there are other things that deserve a closeup. I’ve always loved the way macro photography makes you slow down to get the details. Because that’s really what it’s about..the details. Like the water drop hanging on the branch, getting ready to fall off.

Or the skin of the fresh raspberry….

or even the leaves of a dying tulip….

Tips for Macro Photography: Remember, macro photography can be whatever you want it to be. Just remember: keep a steady hand or tripod, manually focus your lens shoot in burst mode. Have fun!!!

Head on over to Mimi to see what’s she’s shooting this week!

Beautiful. Such dreamy light.

I did learn with a quickness that I need to manually focus. I was getting so frustrated and my model aka my daughter was like "Mom, my arm's gonna fall off." LOL

I've always loved close up photos but never knew they had a special name. Very cool! I once took a pic of my daughter's nose. Had no idea there was a booger in there. Unfortunately it came out in the picture way too good.
