Random Tuesdays

Hey Folks!

Its Random Tuesdays!

Without further ado……

The Overachiever

  • Pookah has two count em, two ear infections at the same time!
  • My child is an overacheiver, obviously.
  • So of course, since this is his 5th and 6th infection, we have directions to go visit the ENT doctor to discuss putting tubes in his ears.
  • Sigh.
  • How about Arnold????Hoe.  And she is NOT attractive.
  • Glad I paid my bills, the end of the world obviously didn’t happen on Saturday..
  • What is going on with all of this wild weather??
  • I’m going to really miss Oprah’s show.
  • And I still don’t like that damn Beyonce song….
  • But I want her thighs….
  • My Parents should be arriving at any moment now.
  • All of my transcripts have arrived from the various(3) colleges that I attended.  I now gave no excuse to apply to Grad School.
  • Why is my child always sick??I thought that breastfeeding for 6 months was supposed to help that. And allergies.
  • Shiiiiit
  • Everyone keeps saying “tubes” are the way to go, but does my child REALLY need surgery?
  • My house is spottless.  I heart my cleaning service.
  • My head hurts.
  • I’m stressed.
  • But otherwise, life is good.
  • How are you?

He is absolutely adorable!! Sounds like you had a VERY random-thoughts Tuesday haha. I wish I had a cleaning service! And I can not for the life of me understand the 'end of the world' people last week. My fiance got to talking to someone on the subway who stopped paying all of his bills and threw out all of his clothes. I'm pretty sure that his Sunday sucked without clean underwear or a roof over his head haha.

Hi, first time reader...nice place you got here.

About Pookah & his ear infections. My eldest son, Eeny, now 8, had frequent ear infections as an infant, toddler, preschooler. I breast fed this child for 2+ years. (Had to pry him off the nipple with a shoe horn almost.) He was prone to ear infections anyway. It wasn't until I noticed that Eeny didn't have the vocabulary ALL his peers had, even the kids that were "slow talkers." By this time, I'd learned he had a significant hearing loss as a result. He's still in speech & language, doing much better, but it was the most rough during his transitional toddler to preschool years when he was very aggressive with us because he could not communicate with us. I taught him ASL to help bridge the gap in those early years, and the aggression lessened, then stopped.

As much as I was afraid of the surgery to have tubes placed in Eeny's ears, it was the best thing I did. Surgeries on a small child are hard to accept, but put on the other hat, the Nurse Manager hat. If Pookah were not Pookah, but Malachi, or Edward, or some other woman's baby with the same history, would the diagnosis & suggested treatment still make sense? Do what you have to do. Pookah will be ok, he's a tough guy cuz he's gotta tough mom.

Then, you can put your Mom hat back on the day of surgery. I hope this is helpful.

First of all.. I am crazy jealous about the cleaning service. What? I need that in my life. I feel like my son's nose has been running since December *sigh* if its not one thing.. its another. My nephew had to get tubes because of the reoccurring infection *sad face* good luck with whatever you decide to do.
