reivew of Kinky-Curly’s Curling Custard

The photo above is my hair after applying Kinky Curly’s Curling Custard.

Curling Custard

Now, it is supposed to bring out the natural curl pattern of your hair.  The directions want you to apply Kinky Curly’s Knot Today leave in conditioner first and to keep a spray bottle of water nearby.  Next, you are to separate your hair into sections and saturate your hair bit by bit with the product, and then let it air dry.

I tried it their way, with not so good results.  My hair turned out….gummy.  Too much product.  My hair is THICK.  It takes FOREVER to air dry now that it’s pure natural.

So, my way was to just run my fingers through my hair with the product.  I didn’t go section by section, but I did make sure that the Kinky Curly was well applied.  And I did take a blow dryer and semi/half dry my hair.

The results were MUCH better.  Now, while I don’t really think that this product is for me everyday, I will admit that it is an easy wash and go type product.  My hair was soft, and  moisturized in comparison to what is usually is.( that is hard and dry).  However, I don’t really like the look that it gives me, so I won’t be using it much.  But I will keep it as my lazy go to product when I don’t have time for anything else.

I am really wondering whether to invest in the KK products now that I have chopped my hair off. I am not sure I will like it and it's a lot of money to spend.

Well your hair looks healthy! However the product does not look like it gave you a curl pattern :-/ . I think the best things to do( in my experience) is to get a good conditioner, doesn't have to be a leave in and well. . leave it in lol. That'll bring out your curl patter. It's a lazy anytime thing and it works and is inexpensive. Try it out. :)
