Saturday Stream of Consciousness

I’m exhausted.

In case you didn’t know, Pookah started feeling ill on Wednesday, and it’s gone downhill from there. He was home with me Thursday and Friday.  The dr concluded that it wasn’t strep or the flu, just a virus that needed to run it’s course.

While his eating is still off, the fevers are not as frequent and easier to get rid of.

I had one moment on Thursday, where I couldn’t get his temp below 103 for 2 hours despite alternating bwteeen tylenol and Motrin. I finally just dumped him in the cold shower.

It worked.

But we’ve also battled that temp at 2 am…and 4 am…

And clinginess and just….exhaustion from worrying about your child.

I’m tired.

Because through all of this, I still had to work. And take care of him and do all the other things that need doing.

Motherhood isn’t for the weak.

But Saturday is for laying my but in this here bed all day.

Eating warm chocolate chip cookies from Chick-Fil-A

Forget them dishes in the sink this messy bedroom, and all that laundry piling up.

Forget every last single thing I was supposed to do today.

I don’t care.

Daddy’s here.

Let him handle it.

STOP

This was my 5 minute Stream of Consciousness post. It’s five minutes of your time and a brain dump. Want to try it? Here are the rules…

  • Set a timer and write for 5 minutes.
  • Write an intro to the post if you want but don’t edit the post. This is writing in the raw.
  • Publish it somewhere. Anywhere. The back door to your blog if you want. But make it accessible.
