SOC Sunday: I’m being Sabotaged.

Hey folks, I’m back! I haven’t done a stream of consciousness this year. Fadra has changed it up just a bit by having prompts, but you don’t have to use them! I am going ahead without the promps today because I’ve got something to talk about. LOL.

#SOCsunday

I’m being sabotaged. By my own body it seems. My new years goal was to get moving, get active and eat right.  How am I doing two weeks in? Miserable, horrible, complete fail.  Why you ask? My body rebelled and gave me the cold/flu from hell.  And on top of that,I’ve had hellish nights at work.  So crazy work+ cold/flu=no weight loss, no exercise, no goals met. I feel so bad! I mean I really had intentions, but life kept screwing me up! I meant to get moving that first week, but Pookah being out of school sort of put a dent in that. Then I go to work and get stressed ALL the way out which causes me to eat things I shouldn’t. Then I catch this horrible horrible bug that has me practically coughing up a lung everynight. I can’t seem to catch a break here! Is there something out there in the universe that doesn’t want me to get in shape? Does it love my muffin top? Geez. And it’s so deflating to have everyone else starting and meeting their goals and here I sit, Robitussin in one hand hot toddy in another. SMH. And to top it all off, I can’t seem to shake this bug! Why why why??? I think I’m doing better all day and then BAM, I’m down for the count. SIgh. I can’t catch a break these past weeks. Hopefully, next week will be better. I’m off to drink a hot toddy. If I can’t be in shape, at least I can be tipsy. Right? RIGHT?

This was my 5 minute Stream of Consciousness Sunday post. It’s five minutes of your time and a brain dump. Want to try it? Here are the rules…

  • Set a timer and write for 5 minutes.
  • Write an intro to the post if you want but don’t edit the post. No proofreading or spellchecking. This is writing in the raw.
  • Publish it somewhere. Anywhere. The back door to your blog if you want. But make it accessible.
  • Add the Stream of Consciousness Sunday badge to your post.
  • Link up your post at allthingsfadra.com.
  • Visit your fellow bloggers and show some love.

This sounds exactly like me last fall. I signed up for the Mamavation 2 week challenge and went from not feeling good to outright sick to just feeling miserable. Sometimes you just have to get through it and then start anew.

I used to lose a crap ton of weight when I got the flu, but I always gained it right back. Plus, I was weak. I hope you get to feeling better soon. I've heard a lot about that going around right now, and I can't say that I'm jealous!

You did not just beat yourself up over being sick.....I don't know whether to fuss or laugh. Girl it's okay. The best part about setting goals for a new year is that you have the WHOLE ENTIRE YEAR to get to them. So if you didn't get started the first 2 weeks....you've got more weeks to get on it.

Love your final thought!!

I'm sure you will be better soon and can get into a routine. One thing I do when I'm not feeling well is some yoga. There are sites I found that have poses that are supposed to help colds heal faster. I did them a few weeks ago when I felt a cold coming on and I feel like it helped halt the symptoms in their tracks. Plus yoga, though not fully cardio in nature, still is exercise and still works on stretching and building muscles.

Found your blog through Sunday Stream of Consciousness.

Hope you feel better.

I'm a stress eater too, but it helps to surround yourself with healthy snacks like baby carrots, Snackwell cookies, rice chips, Fruit Rollups, Jello, yogurt, etc. I lost a lot of weight from my 2nd pregnancy doing that. I did fall off the water wagon over Christmas drinking all of those holiday punches and sodas, but I'm getting back on and committing to working out and drinking more water.

Don't give up. You can get back on track. It takes time to get a routine down and even more time to get used to it but it'll happen.
