Wrapping up the Week

IMG_1171
This week was an emotional rollercoaster. Seriously.

But let me update you on a few things:

I did in fact speak to Pookah’s teachers. You will be proud to know I kept my cool and not one curse word came out. In fact, I didn’t have to say much. They were waiting for me because C-Dub had warned them that I was not pleased and would be there on Tuesday to tell them about it.

So I had my say, and they had already put a few things into place:

  1. D is now segregated during playtime. He can’t play with them when they are playing trucks, etc.
  2. He evidently had several other violent incidents after he hit Pookah, so they called his mom to come pick him up.
  3. He will be suspended if anything like this happens again.

Ok. Now. My main issue is that they let it get to this point. When it was Pookah, I knew about it before I even got to the school.  I had the chance to speak to D’s Mom on Thursday.  She felt the same. She knew D was aggressive, but what she didn’t know (because they didn’t tell her) was that it was spilling over into school. She wondered why it had to get to her seeing Pookah’s head and asking what happened for them to tell her that D was getting out of control hitting other kids AND teachers. (say what?)

She and I agreed that on the whole, Pookah and D are friends. She apologized for her son and I accepted.  But we both agree: who is watching our children? It shouldn’t get to the point it did.  This is something else I will address with them further on down the road.  They are walking on tip toes around me, trying to please me. They even moved picture day because I said I wasn’t letting Pookah take photos with his head looking like that.

SMH.

Number two update: My camera.

I found a local camera shop here that is certified to fix Nikon and Canon cameras. They found out that something with my card reader was screwing up the whole camera. They are going to be able to fix it. It isn’t a cheap fix either. But it wasn’t as much as a new camera or new lens so I felt it was worth it. I want to upgrade my camera, and plan on doing so next year.  But I’m not ready or able to do it now.  But anyway, it will take them about a week or 7 business days to do so. Which sucks. I was supposed to shoot a christening for a friend next Saturday. I’m hoping it’s fixed by then.

But this of course, put a kink in my plans for my 30 days of thankfulness post AND the last 2 weeks of a photography class I was taking.  But hey. Life goes on I guess.  I guess I’ll work on finally learning more about Photoshop or the redesign of my photoblog I’m working on slowly.

BIG SIGH.

So anyhoo, that’s all for now.

How was your week?

Yes, I'm glad you were able to talk to the mom and work things out. I remember those days, I was not easy on them either, but hey it's our babies we're talking about.

These daycares.....I think they will be very careful from now on and I am glad they are taking precautions this time.
