Busy Weekends and My Life’s Photos

This weekend was BUSY.  In the world which I now work in, weekends are supposed to be for relaxing.  I now “live” for the weekend.  Especially since I’m giving up the hospital job.  Yes, I will be calling/emailing my manager today and letting her know.

We spent Saturday with a few friends crossing off something on my bucket list!

Apple Picking!

It was fun times. Pookah had tons of fun with his friends.

Came home that evening and CDub and I had date night for his birthday.  My sister in law was FINALLY in town at the right time and we escaped to have dinner at a restaurant that didn’t have to have gluten free ANYTHING on the menu.

Yeah boy…….

And Sunday, CDub’s actual birthday was spent with brunch at a new spot that serves gluten free breakfast foods and a trip to the PGA golf store for gifts.  Fun times.

But exhausting.

Blogalicious starts on Thursday, and of course, I will be preparing for that. I need to go through my closet and decide what I’m going to wear because, you know, that’s important.  Plus, what lens do I take? I’m not lugging them all around all day so…..

My Life’s Photos is back!

Fall is here and October offically starts tomorrow.  So we have a new fall themed month of prompts for you!

october my lifes photos

The first prompt is Fall Photos and the twist( for those of you who accept that part of the challenge) is to blur the background.

Remember last week when I talked about Depth of Field and Aperture???

I’ts time to put that lesson to use!

Here is an example:
IMG_6285.jpg

Settings: Shutter speed: 1/50 Aperture f/4 ISO 160

Notice how even though my aperture is f/4, my depth of field is still pretty shallow? Sometimes, it is a combination of aperture and your distance from the background that contributes to your depth of field. You don’t always have to have the widest aperture possible to achieve that Bokeh that you are aiming for!

Can’t wait to see your entries!

Head on over to this post on KoKoa Magazine and add your entries!

Wow LaShawn, these photos are fantastic. They look like they belong in a Southern Living Magazine.

I don't know how to do fancy stuff with cameras yet and I only have a point 'n shoot. Maybe over the holiday I can get a big camera.

PS. Did you bring apples back to make pies?
