Being Optimistic

It’s been a long week and the end of the month at that.

I can’t believe that June is over already. Where does the time go?

I talked to my manager the other day and finally got it out of her that she is almost positive that I will be going to dayshift in mid August.

Soooo, while I’m cautiously,deliriously, happy, I have one issue…..

My Husband.

CDub works about a hour’s drive away from home. Without rush hour traffic.

My problem is: will he be able to pick up Pookah by 6pm when his school closes?

It’s an issue we have been working though on how to handle for the last week or so. If he goes in REALLY early, he can leave early and get there on time. But traffic can just kill plans to get anywhere on time in Atlanta. SMH

He assures me that he will, but felt compelled to point out to me the other day that Pookah will spend more time in daycare…

As if I didn’t feel guilty enough.

I feel awful that

1. I won’t see him before I leave for work( since I’ll be leaving at 6 am)
2. By the time I get home, it will be time for him to go to bed.
3. And that will happen 3 days a week.

But, I have to do this. Even though I’ve caused yet another upheaval in our lives by going to dayshift, I think in the long run, it will be better for us all. My sanity, my health and my life depends on it really. I’m holding on by a string and I know my little family of 3 can’t take much more. Something has got to give, and I think if I can actually SLEEP more than 4 hours at a time, I could be a much more productive, happy, and saner person. After all, a mother who has energy to play and read stories and be engaged is better than one who is irritated, depressed and sleep deprived.

And I think that C-Dub will appreciate it more when he notices that I have more energy for household duties and extracurricular activities……

Anyway, we’ve got until August to work this all out. I’m so optimistic this time, I think it’s going to finally work out!

In the meantime, I must confess that I didn’t pick up my big girl camera all week long. Even though I got my 50mm 1.4. I think it’s a combination of not enough time and no motivation. I’ve got a few ideas and plans and lists to help me get back on track. We’ll see if they work!

But….I did have my iPhone! And so my Project 52 photo is from my iPhone, because I love it. Really love it.
