Disclaimer: I know the above photo is blurry and a little out of focus, but dang it he’s cute.  And I like it.  And it’s my blog.

We now return to regularly scheduled blogging…….

*************

Sooo, it’s been an emotional and busy week.

I started off despairing that my child was having a breakdown at age 23 months and that he was already “that” child in terms of his behavior.

I’m ending the week with new insight due to spying and the little talks that I’ve started to have with Pookah every morning.

Every morning this week, the last thing I say to Pookah, softly in his ear before we go in his classroom is” remember, no hitting and no biting.” He repeats it softly and smiles a sweet smile at me.

When I did it Monday, that afternoon the report was he was biting. But no hitting. Hmmm.

Tuesday: He had a good day up until 5 minutes before I got there, where he bit a child on the finger.  The child “deserved it” so the teacher says.  But my question: If this is so, then why was Pookah the only one in time out???

Wednesday: Substitute teacher.  Who raved about Pookah.  And Pookah himself: “Mommy no hidding and no biting!”  He was so proud of himself! I gave him plenty of high fives and hugs!

Thursday: He was a little clingy in the morning.  And Ms Riley was after him( I noticed while spying of course). But another good report at the end of the day. Another substitute teacher. I know because I spied on her too. He was behaving well.  Smaller group of kids too. Hmmmmmmmmm

So on the whole, my little talks with Pookah in the morning seem to be working.  It’s like he remembers me saying it and repeats it.  And interesting enough, since his regular teacher wasn’t there at the end of the week, behaviour improved.  Now I love Sister T, but it does make me think.

But I have noticed, that now that he is acting OK at school, he is showing his ass at home.  I put him to bed last night without a story it was so bad.  SMH.

But in the mean time, I’ll still keep you all updated on his behaviour and what I’m doing to try to work with his issues.

Well, have a good weekend folks, you know what I’ll be doing.  But this is the last full weekend of working! I’m so excited! Soon I’ll be (almost) normal!! LOL

Have a Great Weekend!

OH my gosh he is so CUTE! I am not a mom yet so I cant imagine the ups and downs of that experience. I am amazed every time I spend time with my nieces at all the love and patience and work goes into being a good parent. Good luck!

He's not just cute, he's adorable! He'll get past the hitting and biting thing. At that age, they really can't comprehend the idea that other people feel things and that what they do hurts the other kid. It will pass.

Thanks again for visiting on my SITS day.

Acting out at home for Jas usually means she's tired so to bed she goes.

He'll get into a real groove soon enough but maybe you need to spy on his regular teacher too. And tell them about Riley hitting him. They need to keep an eye on her.
