Let Me Upgrade You…..

First off, thanks for all of your well wishes.

I’m doing OK.  Just still trying to get used to having a catheter in my bladder 24/7.  I think that makes it harder than anything else.

Because let me tell you, that joker is UNCOMFORTABLE.

I know this is Mamavation/Cut the Fluff Monday, but nothing new is going on in that area.  I’ve had to go on hiatus until I am fully healed.

But I’ve got PLANS for when I do!

My sister-in-law were talking yesterday and she said she felt like she needed to upgrade.

Immediately, I understood EXACTLY what she was talking about.

Now that I am venturing out again( to places other than the Doctor’s office, the grocery store and daycare), I feel like I need to get myself together.  I caught a glimpse of myself the other day and realized that I looked……frumpy.

I’m 34.  I shouldn’t be looking frumpy.

Ok, some of it is the fact that I have just had surgery, I have baby dreads and I am always sleep deprived, but still.

I have never looked frumpy in all of my life.

I need to get it together.

Soooo, I am embarking on a Total Me Makeover.

Mondays are now dedicated to this endeavor.

Because, I’ve got to get my sexy, groove and all that jazz back!

Sooooooo:

I need to get this body together:

  • Get some new, stylish, in fashion clothes to go on it.
  • Work this hair! because despite it being in the in between stage, it is cute.
  • Start wearing makeup.  Again.  Experiment.  Have fun.  Play up my assets.:)

Get my house in order:

  • I’ve got a cleaning service coming FINALLY on next Monday.  They are doing a DEEP cleaning.  All for a $150 of my hard earned money.  And it will be worth EVERY PENNY.

I feel like sometimes when where you live is cluttered and disorganized, then so are you.  So I am putting a stop to that and starting over.  My mother being here is a godsend.  She is seeing and suggesting things that I had forgotten or just hadn’t thought of.  But my house is starting to look like it used to.  I am pleased!  And feel like I can breathe!

  • My next step is to finally, after 5 years of living in the house, decorate.

Sad I know*hanging my head in shame*. But stuff kept happening(lay offs, pregnancies).  But now, we can afford to buy furniture.  I can afford to paint.

And last but not least, I am officially done with credit cards.

Forever and ever.  I am keeping one for stuff like renting a car.  But other than that, if we can’t buy it with cash, we don’t need it.

So I guess I’ve really just done new years resolutions all over again.

I’m excited!

Alright now! Look at you lady. I love your enthusiasm for a refresher on everything! We've been in our house 3 years and we don't have the living room furniture that I want yet either. I've been feeling a little blah lately and have started a few small things to fix that feeling.

Good for you! I know the frumpy feeling and living in scrubs doesn't help either lol. Stay motivated!

I can totally relate to all of the above!! The cleaning service is oh so worth it!! I can't wait until we can afford to put bi-weekly cleaning back into our budget! Until then, I need a system, because I am exhausted and the last thing I want to do (nor will the baby let me) is clean. Good for you..getting rid of the credit cards! Most rental car companies take debit cards now, but they will put a hold on the account. After doing Dave Ramsey's FPU, we learned that you can do everything with cash and a debit card ;)
