No Rest for the Weary….

I FINALLY dropped Pookah off at daycare this morning.  And EVERYBODY knew that I was hot with them.  It’s was all “Hi Pookahs Mom! Hi Pookah! In very excited voices.

Hmp.

Pookah was fine. He seemed just a little shy when he first arrived in the classroom with everyone else.  He just stood there for a moment like, “where the hell ya’ll been?”

But then, by the time I kissed and left him, he was smiling.  His teacher kept asking, “did you grow young man?” And really, he has. I need to buy new pants becuase he’s getting taller.

Sigh.

So anyway, as I was leaving, the principle, the vice principle AND the executive secretary all stopped me apologizing for the mix up. It seems they sent out the wrong date on their back to school letter( so I’m not crazy as C-Dub was assuming).  They realized it and tried to tell everyone, but she thought my email address was ……cgmail.com.  Really? No one told her all email addresses have @ in them? REALLY?

I explained kindly( really kindly) that I don’t have the type of job where I can just take off at the last minute. So no, it was NOT OK.  I already had to rearrange everything for the whole two weeks that he was off.  That one extra day just about sent me over the edge.

I don’t think they will be making that mistake again.

Anyway, I thought I would get rest today, but no, I’ve got a ton of errands to run that I had been putting off because I had Pookah.  Keeping him entertained was a full time job..

I wanted to work out today, but if I want to take a nap before work, I don’t think it will happen.  Luckily I just put dinner in the croak pot, so I don’t have to worry too much about that.  But I have a ton of stuff to mail, bills to pay, cleaning to do.

Sigh. A woman’s work is never done.

The school your son attends sure sounds a lot like the school I worked at before I started nannying. The principal and asst. principal were both complete idiots. I had to email the principal this week about tax forms, she replied with a typo in her signature!! She would never have thought to call or assumed that there needed to be an @ in your email! People these days!!!

Hmmm calling would have been nice. No one wants to pick up the phone anymore. There is no rest for the weary there is always something to do. I am trying to stick to a schedule and so far it has been working so I am not as tired as I use to be only when these little people don't sleep at night.
