So. This almost didn’t happen.
The woman who was supposed to do my hair, flaked out on me. ( OK not really, her kid got sick). But still. I was on a mission, TODAY. I didn’t want to wait until next week. Now, I had three locticians/salons on my list. The first was my favorite, and most expensive. The second was a well known natural hair shop here in the ATL, Taliah Waajid’ s Natural Hair Salon in the West End. I’ve always heard mixed reviews about this place, but I was willing to try. After all, this is what they do.
I called, they had an opening. I prayed HARD before I got out of the car, that the RIGHT stylist would be the one to do my hair.
Of course, I was unimpressed with the outside of the salon. (But that’s just me and my bouginess.) But the inside was clean, welcoming and full of women. It seriously reminded me of going to the salon to get the creamy crack every Saturday morning. I’ve missed the comradery that there is among women getting their hair done! All of the stylist had natural hair styles. GORGEOUS natural hair styles. Hair styles done by each other! True advertisement! Thewoman who gave me my consultation(Nysha) answered all of my questions effortlessly and intelligently. I was very impressed. I got a wash, a deep conditioner and a hot oil treatment before she even started my locs. I LOVED HER!
2 hours later…………..
And the owner of the salon even took my photo for their portfolio! Ahhhh, I think I might be in love.

They are gorgeous! And I'm glad you found a workaround. Maybe this was meant to be a long. :-)
