You know, I’ve always wanted to revisit New Orleans. I’ve been there once, overnight for one night of the Essence Festival. The July before I got married. The July before Katrina.
I always wondered if I would ever get to go back and experience the New Orleans that I’d always wanted to experience. I still didn’t get to in a day, but at least this time, I scratched the surface. If I had my way, I would go back again and again and again until I’ve soaked up all the essence that is New Orleans. And not just the French Quarter.
So, of course, since I only got to go one day, a mere 6 hours, I am plotting my way back again. It’s something about that city that just draws me in……
Some decorations from Mardi Gras were still up….
A street scene that needed to be in black and white
I love all the balcony’s with flowers and iron rails. I just want to sit on one with a drink…
Us…taken by the guy who drove the carriage, so forgive the dark photo!

Yes! They are like twins. You should see the rest of his aunts and uncles. They couldn't deny him if they tried!

Great pictures. I've wanted to go to New Orleans for a while now. I really wish I'd had the opportunity before Katrina. I still want to go anyway.
I love the black and white picture. It just made it look instantly vintage.

Great pictures! I especially love that black and white shot and the one of you and your family at the end! I have only been to New Orleans once. I was 14 then. I don't remember much, other than the essence, the feeling of that city. Not every city has a distinct feeling, but New Orleans certainly does.
