It’s time.
Ladies(and any gentlemen), it’s time.
It’s time to loose weight. The Pookah will be 1 year old in 13 weeks.
3 months.
I’ve got 3 months to loose at least 15 pounds. 20 would be the ideal, but I’ve got to start somewhere.
Sooo, I’ve got plans.
I’ve been following A Black Girl’s Guide to Weight Loss’s Clean Living Boot Camp. It’s all about eating clean. Her website in general is very helpful in terms of weight loss and eating right.
And then I got inspired by Joonluv630’s H20 September Challenge. The plan is to drink 6 glasses of water everyday in September. I’ve been drinking lots of my calories, so this will be helpful.
And of course, my friend Christina got me thinking about it with her new project Cut the Fluff. Our babies are only a week apart. So she’s in the same boat as me.
Soooo( drum roll)
Starting weight : 181.4
Goal weight: 165(for now)
By November 26, 2010.
The Plan:
I rejoined the gym, added Pookah onto my membership so that he can go to the Kids Care while I work out. That way, there is not excuse that I don’t have anyone to watch the baby.
I am also going to count calories. Basically because it will force me to actually plan out what I’m going to eat rather that eating on the fly. I’m giving myself 1800 calories in the beginning, because I am still breastfeeding( even if it is part time). I admit that I am slowly weaning him. I’ve gotten rid of one feeding, I’ve got about a dozen more to go!
I am going to do The Runner’s World 8 week Beginning Runner’s Trainer’s Program. I’ve always wanted to run, and there is no better time to start!
So. Here we go. No more excuses.
I am actually going to post before pictures. Me and my gut in all it’s glory!

Good job and good luck! I have the same budda belly that you do, at least one of us is going to get rid of it! Mine is here to stay (for now!)
You can do it girl! Now you’re inspiring me to start running also! I too have always wanted to run, and I heard about the couch to 5k program from 3Carrigans on twitter. I think I’ll join you with the running! And thanks for the shoutout of my September H2O challenge 😉
you’re welcome!
You can do it MyFriend – Make it happen!!! 🙂
Girl, you about to make me get up and take some before pictures, lol! Good luck on your journey! do you know I havent worked out or counted not even ONE calorie this week? So I just lost a week, from laziness, lol. I’m gonna get on it though! We can do it!
DO IT!
Good for you! I had a goal to lose the 80lbs (!) I gained during pregnancy before my baby’s first birthday. Well, that birthday is next Sunday and I’m not there yet LOL. I have lost 65lbs though so I’m close.
I was a runner before having a baby but I had to stop at like 5 months because of back issues. I used Couch To 5K to start over and it was a great program. It is pretty much the same as the RW program you listed except you can download a neat little app from ITunes that makes doing the intervals 10X easier. It cues you when to stop & start while you listen to music of your choice. That gave me the freedom to run indoors or outdoors without worrying about stopwatches and stuff.

thanks for the advice! I’ll look into the 5K again. Too many choices!
Nov 26th is my bday! Awesome. I’m all for people losing weigh because they want to and not because of someone else. I get inspired by that sort of thing. And we all know you can’t lose and ounce until you’re ready and never before. I won’t wish you luck because I know you’ll do it. You seem more than ready to me 🙂
Great. Good for you. Totally doable. Also, you must check out my friend at http://www.effindiets.com. She is awesome. Refreshing, wise and has been there!
