Christmas, to me, has always meant two things: family and good food.  When I was a little girl, my family would make the trek every year from Washington DC ( our home) to Alabama where my parents family lived. It was our biggest trip of the year and I always looked forward to it. Not just because it was Christmas time and Santa was coming, but because I would get to see cousins and Grandparents and Aunts and Uncles.

And there would be FOOD.

SO MUCH FOOD.

My family treats Christmas like most people do Thanksgiving. WE COOK. I have vivid memories as a child of my Grandmother mother and Aunt staying up all night chopping and baking and minding pots. I would go to bed smelling the wonderful smells and spices while waiting for Santa to come.

Every year, there is Turkey, and Collard Greens and Mac and Cheese and pies and cakes and potato salad and dressing corn casserole, sweet potatoes……

And Ham.

There is always a Ham

In the last few years, the task has gradually fallen on me, to cook ALL THE THINGS( except pie. I don’t do pie), and this year won’t be any different. Last year, Christmas was hosted at my home, but this year, we will be traveling back to Washington DC, since my brother finally got a house big enough for all of us, and the Christmas Eve ritual of cooking all the food will continue.

With all the traveling and arriving on Christmas Eve, we are going to be very busy and a few things won’t get cooked.

But, like I said before…there will be ham.

This year, that Ham will be from the HoneyBaked Ham store because with all the traveling and arriving on Christmas Eve, there will be no time to cook both a ham AND a Turkey! But the wonderful thing about a HoneyBaked Ham is that wonderful taste of home that will make our Christmas Dinner complete.

I love a HoneyBaked ham! It’s spiral sliced and finished with the sweet, crunchy glaze that has set HoneyBaked Ham apart for generations…….

Having that HoneyBaked Ham is going to allow me to not spend half of Christmas day in the kitchen, and more time with my family! I can’t wait!

  3. I serve a ham on Thanksgiving and it’s always so delicious! On Christmas Day we grill steaks. I would love a Honeybaked Ham for Christmas Eve. We always have soup and sandwiches.

As for the ham, I can still remember the first time I had a honey baked ham. OMG! I look forward to eat every holiday season.

  9. We cook ham, devil eggs, Mac and cheese, collard greens, bake beans, sweet potato pie, apple pie, cream corn, candy yams.

  16. On Christmas day our family get together and have so much fun. We eat. chiles rellenos, enchiladas, pozole and carne asada. We share with family and friends. Thanks for the chance to win such an amazing giveaway.
