A Gathering of All the Kids….

So I have a confession to make: I don’t make friends easily.  Oh I’m friendly. I can hold a conversation well. I basically get along with everyone. I have lots of acquaintances.

I’ve lived in Atlanta for 10 years now and it’s just within the last 5 years that I discovered I had friends here.

And now that we all have kids…well, it’s a beautiful thing.

A few of my friends and I get together every blue moon to have wine and food while the kids are running around having the time of their lives.

It’s the perfect playdate.

The kids had so much fun. They are a rowdy bunch. It helps that they are all about the same age( seriously, most of them were born within months of each other). But I love it that Pookah is growing up with kids who I think, will be friends for life.

Because their Mama’s said so. 🙂

But anyhoo, we had fun the adults that is, watching the kids play, gossiping, complaining. laughing, dranking, eating and just being us.

I tried to get a photo of all the kids together. Like a usually do.  And got these…..

Some people would get frustrated that no one was sitting still for the perfect group photo. Maybe when they are all teenagers, we can work that out. But for now, I always end up with the perfect photos that showcase EXACTLY who they are, at this time in our lives.

  1. I have been here for over 10 years myself and have yet to find any friends here its sad but true. I need to get out more and meet people. Love different personalities of the kids in the pictures.

  2. I love it. I don’t hang out with my friends too often but I do hang out with my family a lot. One of my sisters as EIGHT kids. 3 of which are 4 years old like Jas. She gets to see them most weekends. I think it cures the loneliness she feels being an only sometimes and it gives me a break from having to entertain her myself lol

  3. The kids looks like they had an amazing time and I’m jealous of them running around in t-shirts! We’re still in our winter coats up here til spring decides to someday arrive.

  4. We’ve been here for almost 9 years and I’ve just found my set of girlfriends! Our kids are around the same age as well and that helps.
I love the look on the little girl’s face in the photos, especially the last one.

  5. Making and keeping friends later in life is hard. There are so many circles that one falls into but grasping on to a true friendship is so tough. At this point, I have a few acquaintances but non in which I can call “friend”, well maybe one.

The pictures are so rich and the action pictures are fantastic.
