Monday Randomness

A few random things:

1.  This one’s for Veronica over at Crunchy VT Mommy:

The Duggars.  12 of the 19 have chicken pox at the same time.  Wow.  Now, I’m all for “it’s your body, do what you like” But 19 kids? And she keeps talking about she would be open to more????? What’s wrong with this woman?? How can they afford it?  How can her body afford it? I mean, as a L&D nurse, I’ve seen women having 10, 11, 12 children. But usually by then, they have signed the papers to get their tubes tied or we are doing some emergency hysterectomy because their uterus’ are just TIRED.  But THIS woman????? Lord.  I know I’ll be unpopular for saying it, but she really needs to enjoy the kids she has and move on!

2. I’m tired of my hair.  This going natural shit is for the birds.  It costs more to keep up my “natural” hair than it did to get a relaxer!  I met a woman today while out eating with the fam.  Her weave was fab.  I asked her where she got it done, and got the number.  I might be calling and have long flowing STRAIGHT hair by next week.

3.  I’m tired of my finances.  We are barely getting by.   I paid the mortgage(on the 15th!) and now, we have enough for groceries and gas until Friday when I get paid.  I need to work more than part time, but C-Dub can’t leave work early any more than he already does.  So working more than two days a week won’t work.  For him.  Unless I work on the weekends? But then, when will I get to spend time with him?  I’m calling the mortgage company, I need some options.  And looking for another job while I’m at it.  He’ll have to deal with it.  Somehow.

4. I’m tired of my weight.  But I like to eat.  Sweets.  Mainly Ben and Jerry’s Americone Ice Cream.  And McDonald’s french fries.  Reducing calories causes my milk supply to go waaaay down, and I’m struggling as it is!  Sooo…..I can’t wait to stop breastfeeding so I can go on a diet.   Yeah, I said it!

5. The 5th anniversary of Katrina is this week.  New Orleans is still a wreck.  Why is that?

6.  Dr Laura.  I know you don’t understand.  Enjoy your retirement.

And finally,

7. A woman here in Georgia got charged an extra $5 fee at the nail salon because she was overweight.  Seriously?????And when she protested and went to the news, the manager refunded her $5 but admits whispering in her ear “I’m sorry. Next time I cannot take you.”

And that my friends are my random thoughts for today.  Stay tuned for next weeks episode…..

I can relate to many of these (although I already have straight hair - funny, I always wished it was curly when I was little). You have much to think about here AND you have the chance to write about it - what a great gift! Glad you are and that you're participating in the www.31daysblogchallenge.com.

I have to say, the finances one got me. I took my car in for inspection yesterday - a no-brainer thing - only to learn that my car has at least $600-worth wrong with it, maybe more. Now where will I pull those funds from?

That's life sometimes, huh?

I could relate to a lot of your post!! I'm tired of my hair (which is relaxed), my finances and my weight (but like you, don't want to change what I'm eating).

Great list! I'm participating in the 31 Day Blog Challenge, too, and have your blog on my blogroll.

#3: I hate months when I pay the mortgage on the 15th! It feels late even though it isn't technically late. I hate sliding by into that next month's paycheck. Ugh.

#6: I actually like listening to Dr. Laura's show even though I don't really like her. I love the people who know she is hard-core old fashioned family values and still call in with trifling issues. I find it hilarious and I look forward to listening in the car on my way home. She was dead wrong with that caller Jade though. She didn't even address her issue.

#7: She needs to find a new chair manufacturer then. People are in general bigger than ever. This problem isn't going away.

Ok, 1,5,6,7=mess. #5 is a mess because the people (and MONEY) that were supposed to be working to rebuild....what happened to that?

#2 NNOOOOO not the birds, lol. Maybe you just need the time not dealing with it, to let some more length come in? I think the weave is a good idea. Im getting one myself, at some point this week (No straight though)

#4....you too? I want to start birth control too, so im ready, lol.

I'm so excited to reply!

1. I simply don't understand. I just don't.

2. I'm not sure that I would agree about going natural being for the birds. I got mine pressed in the very beginning and then I think I wore a weave....and then maybe some braids. I don't even remember anymore but I know I didn't spend a ton of money either. I think you have to ask yourself WHY you want to go natural. If it's for the health of your hair then I think you'd be spending a lot now either way....on healthy products.

3. ME AND YOU BOTH! Paycheck to paycheck is not cute and it's inhibiting my damn shopping habit and living standards!

4. Okay you have legitimate reasons. But after you stop breastfeeding I'm coming back over here to hold you to it!

5. Watching all the specials on television just break my heart. My husband and I go down every year for a couple of weeks. We even talked about moving there a couple of months ago.

6. She understands! She's trying to make herself into a martyr for more publicity. Remember the last person that left their job early is now a freaking standard bearer and spokesperson for the party (Palin)!

7. A part of me wonders if there was the sign on the door that says the business is entitled to deny services to anyone they choose. Other questions that come to mind is how overweight is she? I've been a big girl all my life and have never been charged for a mani or pedi. And what part of the service did her weight hinder? Was she too large for the chair? Did she put extra pressure on it? Were her toes so big that they required more paint? I'm just curious.....

#7, The owner claimed that she spent lots of money repairing and replacing her chairs because of "big customers". She said that even though the $5 wouldn't go to far in helping to pay for broken chairs, it was something. But still. That's just wrong
