Motherhood is…amazing….

Motherhood is photography project and blog circle

As the school year comes to a close, I am amazed that in a few days, I will officially have a first grader. I’ve been thinking about how nervous I was at the beginning of the year. How I wondered how he would handle all the structure, the work, the rules, making friends…. everything.

But it’s like when he learned to swing on his own. It didn’t happen over night, it was a gradual thing. One day he was  asking for help, and the next day, he was pumping those legs all on his own soaring high into the sky.

Kindergarten has been the same way. I’ve watched in amazement as he’s learned to follow rules, learned how to calm himself down, learned to read and write and add and subtract. Things I wasn’t sure that he would pick up as quickly as he  has.

It’s amazing.

Who knew that I would find so much joy in watching him become the person he is meant to be.

So this month, motherhood is amazing.

And that is good.

This post is a part of the Motherhood Is Circle with a group of photographers where each month, we explore what motherhood is. Follow the circle over to Courtney to see what Motherhood is for her this month.

  1. Motherhood is so sad…because they grow and they don’t want to be my baby anymore. Then they start talking then they go in their rooms and don’t speak then they come out in high school and have friends and then they leave…..*big sigh* I am glad I get to capture all of that though so when they do leave the nest I can look back and see their growth

  2. Motherhood is amazing indeed! I’m in awe of how much both of my kiddies have changed and blossomed this past year. It’s been an absolute joy watching them come into their own.

  3. I thought I never wanted to be a mom (gasp, I know, but I had a really troubled relationship with my mother growing up). However, now I have two beautiful princesses, and despite the tough times I am so thankful every day for the little joys they bring me. It’s true what they say about unconditional and limitless love. Such a blessing.

  4. I can’t wait to join the ranks of motherhood amd join you in its Amazingness.

Thank you for sharinf Pookah with us. I love watching him grow up through your lense.

  5. It’s all happening so fast, but it is amazing to watch them learn and grow. As each day passes I’m reminded that my baby is becoming his own person. Sometimes it’s a hard pill to swallow, but I know it’s necessary. This August RJ will start his last year of preschool. I plan to soak it all in!

  6. Motherhood is amazing! It can be overwhelming sometimes, but all the special moments out-weigh the chaotic moments any day.
