CDub spends every Saturday morning having his “me” time golfing. For 3-4 hours. So Pookah and I are home alone. It’s been so dang on hot that Pookah and I can’t enjoy the parks and playgrounds like we used to. So we’ve been stuck in the house.
Driving each other crazy.
But this morning, I was determined to get out of this house. I figured if we went early enough, we could get in some playtime before the heat hit.
Good plan.
We arrived at our neighborhood playground and I tell you I was drenched in the the time it took me to get the stroller out of the trunk of the car and Pookah strapped in. But I soldiered on! My baby was going to get his outdoor time! He already was chanting “swing swing”.
I lasted 30 minutes.
Pookah of course could have gone longer, but Mama was DONE.
Then it was off to the store because I forgot that there was a work party tonight.
Why did I say that I would bring those complicated brownies AND meatballs????
Pookah showed out in the store( I’m not even ashamed anymore, I just keep moving) and by the time we finally got home, I felt like I had been to hell and back.
But those meatballs are on.
The brownies are in the oven baking( even though I forgot to oil the pans so that will be a mess).
And Pookah is sleeping( after a short battle that I was determined to win).
Of course, C Dub came home, took a shower and is passed out upstairs.
But that’s ok. Because tomorrow, it’s his turn.

LOL @ 30 minutes!!! I truly respect your effort lady! Some days I don't even make it that long. And my son looks longingly back at the playground, but I just keep it moving. Hope the party was good and that you're enjoying your me time today. Hey, share that meatball recipe. I'm always looking for appetizer recipes.

I am glad I am not the only one that is done after about 30 minutes! I have two now and by the time I get everyone in or out the car...I am sweating like I ran a dang marathon!

You're such a good mommy for braving the heat for the sake of your Pookah! However, please be sure to enjoy your "me" time tomorrow...thoroughly enjoy it!
