Weekending….
My baby graduated from Pre-K!!!!
I had a moment, I tell you when tears wanted to well up and roll down my face.
But I held back and watched my Pookah bear sing his songs, say his poems and get his little paper diploma.
I finally handed off the camera and someone got this shot. I’m making a conscious effort to be a part of the photos. Because I was there too!
My mother in law rode into town Early Friday morning to attend the graduation and stayed until Sunday morning.
Saturday consisted on a baseball game for Pookah. My mother in law, sister in law and I sat under the shade tree getting eaten by mosquitoes and drinking very strong libations.
I was exhausted by Saturday night. ( might have been the liquor though).
We dropped her off on Sunday morning and proceeded to the park with Pookah and then car shopping because Cdub is insisting I need another one, even while I am protesting. He basically told me to come look or get what he bought me.
Sigh.
Anyhoo. My weekend was long and too short at the same time. Have you ever had one of those? So much went on and I never got a break because when someone is visiting, I feel like it’s hotel Lashawn: here are your towels, let me make sure your room is good, are you hungry? Are you entertained? It’s draining, when all I really wanted to do was nap. And lay around in my underwear.
But now it’s Monday again, and life continues.
Pookah is off to day camp for the next 8 weeks and I am planning and plotting for San Francisco. I feel like I will be running on E until the end of the summer.
Well, that was my weekend, how was yours?
I think it’s one of the reasons I hate having company it feels like I have to do so much. What I now do is make sure my company knows where everything is you ain’t new here get up and get what you need.
Congratulations Pookah…big things will happen in Kindergarten.
I am not a fan of house guests either…it’s exhausting to stay the least.
What did you buy?
Congrats Pookah and YES, good for you for getting in the picture! We had Nia’s recital yesterday and I saw a mom taking pictures when someone offered to take one with her saying, “Get in it – moms never get in!” Have a great week =)
Congrats to Pookah! I remember crying at both of my girls Pre K graduation. Kids just grow up way too fast!
When weekend was busy as always, we are always on the go.
I love San Francisco! I was born and raised in the Bay and I really do miss home. You’ll enjoy yourself there.
Oops, I meant to say my weekend. I’m on my cell phone typing.
Such a beautiful family photo! Congratulations to your little guy!
Great family pic! I have to say, I’m probably going to be a crybaby on Thursday when my baby graduates. I ain’t ready!!!!!!!!
