5 Kid Approved After School Snacks for Kids on the Go.
I don’t know about your child, but when I pick up Pookah from school, he is STARVING! I’m always confused because didn’t I fix you a lunch? I admit in the past, I’ve stopped by the store on the way home or to an after school activity for a bag of chips or cookies, but this year, I’m trying to be more intentional and offer healthier after school snacks. Because food is brain food and I want my child to live his best life. Don’t you? But after school snacks don’t have to be rocket science. Simple, healthy and tastes good do go together. LOL. So through trial and error, I came up with these 5 Kid Approved after school snacks…for kids on the go.
1.Cheese and Crackers
Easy peesy. My son loves cheese. Any kind of cheese and most kids love it especially when the cheese comes in fun shapes. Pair it with crackers and it’s a win!
2.Apple Slices and Granola Bars
Simple, easy and a no brainer for everyone Kids love sweet Apple slices and Granola Bars add that little bit of sweet to make this the perfect snack.
3 Stonyfield® Organic Kids® yogurt
Pookah will eat yogurt for breakfast lunch and dinner if I let him! But some kid’s yogurts are so full of sugar;it’s more like candy! There is something about Animal cookies that every child loves. And you can’t go wrong with strawberries and blueberries! Mix this one up with orange or apple slices or even sliced up melon!
Busy Mom Hack: I like to make these the night before so they are ready when my son gets home from school or I can just grab them from the refrigerator on the way to pick him up if we have after school activities. No need to stop and worry about what to fix for a snack that day! And if we are home, he can grab these ready to eat snacks all on his own!
