Again, what had happened was…

So, remember on Friday I had to shoot with my Canon Rebel?

There was a reason for that. You see, I was cruising on Amazon last week, just looking, when I saw that the price of the Canon 6D was $1499. Down from the usual $1899. Body Only.

I closed down my browser, but the thought stayed in my mind.  And I  went over to Adorama and asked for a quote for my 7D, my Lensbaby Spark, My Lensbaby sweet 35 and my Canon 28mm.

And the amount that came back was more than enough to do an exchange.

I packed up that camera and those lenses in record time and ordered the 6D.

Friday night, I trudged up to the main UPS center in Doraville and picked up my Canon 6D.

FULL FRAME.

It’s wonderful. The fact that I can put my 50 1.4 on in my house and have room to shoot like I had my 35 on, is amazing.

The fact that I took SEVERAL photos at ISO 12500 and they were USEABLE was just…..

Chile. I loved my 7D, and I swear if I hadn’t seen the 6D on sale I would have happily stayed blissfully ignorant of the wonders of a full frame camera.

There is a learning curve, for example, I have to get used to new menus and where everything is now after my 7 d.  And I did give up all of those focus points. And the depth of field is different on a full frame camera.

SO I’m not as quick as I’d like right now, but by Christmas day…….

I’m so happy! I leave you with a photo I took in my hallway at ISO 6400. I didn’t have to use any noise reduction at all. I’m amazed at that. Just amazed. And this was with my 50. I was right on him.

I’ll take a few weeks to learn the camera and get used to it and do a full review. Probably in the new year

I’m in love!
