I read this book back when it was still an independently published underground sensation and I ADORED it and immediately became a member of whatever cult HM Wolfe wants to start. Like forever and ever amen.
I am an evangelist for this book. I want EVERYONE to read this book. And now that it is being traditionally published by Scarlett Press????? Like come on!!

What I Really Thought
So listen.
I love a good enemies to lovers book. usually, they are enemies for about 10-25% of the book and it’s really just lust and sexual tension disguised as not liking each other or something like he is her work rival or childhood enemies.
But these two? They HATED each other.
It was 68% into the book and they were still trying to kill each other. Like LITERALLY they shot each other. And it was literally until about 90% of the book before there seemed to be some movement towards the lovers part of this equation but i’ll tell you SPOILER ALERT that EVEN THEN..we didn’t get there lol.
Which was fitting since this is a duology. But this was so well done. The side characters were fleshed out and I was just as invested in them as our main two characters. One of them more than the main couple and let’s just say i was on the floor wailing at certain turns of events.
