My Life

Watching: SCANDAL! Did you see mama Pope chew her own wrists to get out of there??? And then how she got that dr?? And then how she FOUND Liv after 20 years?? And I think if the President had got me a house and was crying about how he wanted to raise kids there, I would have thrown my draws at him too.  And um Huck had his tools ready for Quinn. WELP

Listening To: Back to Black album by Amy Whinehouse. I love that album. Really. love it.

Planning: Thanksgiving travel next week. Yes, we are going to the in laws… mother in law has to work on Thanksgiving and Black Friday.  So who is cooking? *SIDE EYE* But I get to go to New Orleans on Black Friday. Cause I am NOT jumping into all of the shopping mess. I’ll wait for cyber Monday.

Thinking about: The direction of this blog. Where do I want it to go? WHAT do I want it to do? Do I want to make money? Do I want to write? Do I want to make pretty pictures? How about all of the above? Is that even possible in this bloggy game anymore? SO many blogs out there are turning into straight review blogs or I went to this event blog, or look at me, I’m so cool blogs. I am ALL for monetizing and getting your piece of the bloggy pie, but I am just wondering if it’s all there is to blogging anymore? What happened to going to blogs to read something interesting? To read about someone’s life that is similar or completely different to mines? What happened to the notion of engaging to engage? Not to increase your numbers so that a brand will work for you? What happened to commenting because you have something to say, not because you want someone to comment back? What happened to the blogging community that I loved? These are the things I’ve been thinking about here lately.

day 22
(Day 21 of 365, Naphopomo and Day 25 of my black and white challenge)

Looking forward to: Pookah’s party at school today. THERE WILL BE PICTURES! I am going to pick up the gluten-free cupcakes from the bakery this morning.  I can’t wait!

Reading: BLOGS BLOGS AND MORE BLOGS! LOL There are so many of you and not enough time in the world.  Sigh. I will get to you all! Somehow….

Making Me Happy: It’s the freakin weekend.   Need I say more?

Pray for my Daddy please.

No travel for us this year, just a big, over the top out luck with friends!
I’m someone who reads blogs just to read blood. I don’t comment as often as I should, but I love reading about other’s lives!

Let’s do talk about this blogging world. I just had to get rid of 2 blogs in my reader whose last 10 posts was reviews or events. I can’t do it anymore and will address this on my anniversary post next week. Wait for it cause it’s gonna get a lot of comments……..

Mama Pope and the wrists… Whoa! Yes, Fitz would have got the goods for that house!
We’re actually heading to Atlanta for Thanksgiving. Safe travels to you and your family. So happy you get to go to New Orleans. I know you’ve been itching to go for quite some time. I think about dad and how he is doing often. I’ll keep him in my prayers.
I with you on the blogs. I read blogs solely because I can relate or find the topics interesting. I don’t want to feel like I’m reading a commercial ALL all of the time.

Lawddddd… Mama Pope is on whole notha LEVEL!!!!! #IJUSTCAN’T I soooo wasn’t ready for that! lol

Now the whole blogging thing… Hmmm… I think I’ll just wait for Kita to BLAST on that on her Anniversary post but I can so feel ya. It’s sooo relatable and sad all at the same time. You can tell the folks who come across authentic through their post even if we don’t know them personally! Anywho, I may not always comment on your blog posts but I throughly enjoy your pics and posts via blog and Instagram. Safe travel to you and the family! Enjoy your Holiday!

    ~Cheers to the weekend…

Funny that you posted on this! I’ve had similar thoughts swirling around in my head forever. Must post about it. 🙂

I’ll say that my favorite blogs are those where I get to know the person. I do read some blogs for informational purposes, but mostly I don’t like to be talked at/pitched to when it was a different sort of blog initially. When you mostly attend events and write reviews, I’m being pitched to. I won’t abandon a blog that does that so long as the ratios of personal to professional is right. This can be a tricky thing to achieve!
