This week, we head down to Disney. To say that CDub and I are excited is an understatement. I can’t wait to see Pookah’s face when he finds out on Thursday, on his birthday, where we are going! It’s been a long year planning for this trip, so today, I decided to share a few of my favorite resources for Disney for this edition of Currently.
Watching
You tube videos about Disney. I’ve seen waaaaay too many.
Reading
I read The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World 2016 the last time we went to Disney and it helped even though we went only one day. Since this time was a much more involved trip, I needed to do waaaay more research. This book is invaluable. I love it. I need it. I will probably take it with me just in case.
Listening to
This Disney Podcast from WDW Prep-School. And I don’t even like Podcasts that much. But I love this one.
Making
Plans for our dining experience. I relied heavily on reviews from The DisneyFoodBlog, Allergy Free Mouse, and Gluten Free in Orlando. These blogs and their reviews, suggestions and thoughts have really helped planning for keeping Pookah full and gluten-free. I’ve spent an ungodly amount of time making reservations, canceling reservations, making more reservations, researching reservations….But I think I finally got it how I want after a last-minute reservation last night around midnight.
Feeling
BEYOND EXCITED. Between plotting how to tell Pookah, wondering what he will say, and actually getting there, I AM EXCITED.
Loving
All the little things that Disney is so good at. Like the fact that there is a Disney bus to pick up from the airport. We don’t even have to get our bags from baggage claim, they do it for you. The magic bands that will make everything so convenient: room key, fast pass, paying for things, reservations. The online check in that assures that all we really have to do is show up. The endless activities available at our resort. Staying on property I think will be the best decision that we have made.
Planning
All of the photos I am going to take. I’m trying not to put pressure on myself and I may take a day when I don’t bring my camera….who am I kidding?!!?! LOL The wonderful folks over at BorrowLenses.com let me borrow the Canon 24mm f/1.4L Lensand I LOVE IT. I was going to rent a Canon 28mm f/1.8 Lens but decided to go wide or go home. LOL. I’ll talk more about that decision later and how the rental process goes too after I get back.
That’s all for now! It’s going to be hectic around here for the next few days!
Any Disney tips for me! Share in the comments!

I can't wait to see how your trip goes. I'm excited for you all. My only tip is don't be afraid to rest. We wound up having to take naps a time or two because we did so much. That was like 9 years ago. I hope to go back now that my kids are older.
