Why do people care when you decorate for Christmas? My family always had the tradition of decorating for Christmas and starting to listen to Christmas music, the day after Christmas. I continue the tradition. I also start shopping for Christmas decorating early. Like right after Halloween. I may even listen to Christmas music on and off until then. But I don’t go full throttle until after Thanksgiving.
Now, that’s not to say I wouldn’t be opposed to decorating earlier. But my child, who was born on Thanksgiving, feels some type of way about Christmas overtaking his birthday. So we still wait.
A lot of people wait until December. That’s cool. Some people start the day after Halloween ( November 1st.) That’s cool too.
What I don’t’ get is why folks are all up in arms about this? why is it killing you that other folks want to celebrate the season early? They aren’t in your house? They aren’t listening to Christmas music in your car?
We’ve become a society that always has to give their opinion. Forcefully I might add, and anyone who is different from us becomes the enemy.
Over some Christmas garland ya’ll. I posted this on my facebook page and it got so many shares I’m sharing it here.
Cause guys…
It costs you nothing to look the other way.
You put your decorations up December 1st, she will put her’s up November 1st and the rest of us somewhere in between…or after.
We all happy..so what’s the problem?
Stop.
This was my 5 minute Stream of Consciousness Sunday post. It’s five minutes of your time and a brain dump. Want to try it? Here are the rules…
- Set a timer and write for 5 minutes.
- Write an intro to the post if you want but don’t edit the post. This is writing in the raw.
- Publish it somewhere. Anywhere. The back door to your blog if you want. But make it accessible.
- JUST DO IT
