Letters To Our Sons: October
My Dearest Baby Boy:
You are….growing up too fast.
We went to the store this weekend because your pants were too short, and your shirts were too tight. Usually, I go right in Target, go to that nice $5 section and get you a few items. But….you can’t fit anything in that section anymore. Or rather, it’s JUST right. Which means you would grow out of it by Christmas. Reluctantly, I turned to the other side of the aisle.
I was amazed. Just AMAZED that the xs in the big boy department were just your size. In fact, they were ALSO just right.
REALLY????
Your vocabulary is OUT OF THIS WORLD now. Sometimes I feel like I’m talking to a grown person. The “whys” have started. You are talking about and reasoning everything out in that clever mind of yours.
You are growing up.
And soon it will be time to teach you things. To take away some of that innocence and teach you how the world works outside of the safe environment of our home.
But whenever I am mourning the loss of this time in our lives, you give me this impish little smile of yours.
And I’m reminded that you will always be my baby boy. And then, I don’t worry so much anymore.
Love,
Mama.

You’re photography is amazing – I love close up shots! And your son is such a cutie!
He is the most adorable little boy! I know what you mean about crossing the aisle at Target form the $5 section. Nia’s arms and legs are endless! LOL!
So true! They grow up so fast and as much as you wish they could do a lot more on their own, you also wish that they never stop needing you.
Such a sweet mama! He is adorable 🙂
These days go by WAY too fast, but it’s comforting to realize that this is only the beginning of a lifetime relationship with your special guy.
We are crossing over a bit into the big boys clothes too, so I now how that feels! Your little guy is such a cutie 🙂
Pictures are beautiful let’s talk about this growing….my sons feet has just truly hit the big boy sections last year he was wearing toddler shoes for a hot minute but toddler stops at size 13 so we are off to a size 2 in big boy shoes…..the prices…I swear fo gawd I fell out at that store it was a huge huge jump I am use to paying no more than 30 for a good shoes for him now twice that.
What a cutie!! Love his smile! <3
Yep its a big step crossing over the the big boy side. And frankly most of the clothes are not as cute unfortunately. Trying too hard to be cool. But we can’t stop it can we! And I love his expressions, he reminds me of my youngest with that impish smile. So sweet and yet you wonder what he has up his sleeve next!! Love it!
I know exactly what you mean… every single word. Why do they grow up so fast. In one instant they could look like a little man and the next they remind you that they are still your baby. It’s the best.
I’m not ready for him to grow up! I know the day is going to come when he won’t want to be my cuddle bug anymore!
I love this letter. It is so sweet and your little man is so handsome.
I love doing these letters. I think I’m going to print them out at the end of the year into a book
Oh, goodness…. I love his face!!!
thank you!
