My October Reading List

It’s October and I’m reading A LOT of books. I am almost finished with last month’s list, but I’m still diving into the next one. This month, I’m including the ones I INTEND to finish. LOL.  This list is full of variety: You have a YA novel, an Oprah Book Club pick, a Romance, a Memoir and a self-help.

I think I’ve covered all the bases!

My October Reading List

My October Reading list includes A Dream So Black.

1. A Dream so Dark by L.L McKinney

I read the first book in a rush earlier this summer after having it forever. I was relieved to see that the next book was due out in September! I’ve got a lot of work to do, but I can’t wait to catch up with Alice and the modern-day version of wonderland!

2. The Water Dancer by Ta-Nehisi Coates

Of course, I’m going to read Oprah’s new book club pick!!! One problem: I am number 67 on the list at the library. I don’t know if I can wait that long. We shall see…

3. Royal Holiday by Jasmine Guillory

I’ve read all the rest ( The Wedding Party, The Proposal, The Wedding Date) I might as well keep up. Its’ good fun and it will be a perfect beach read for when I go on vacation in 2 weeks.

4.  The Yellow House by Sarah M Bloom

I think I saw this book in Essence in their book section. I ordered it this summer and haven’t read it yet. It’s a memoir set in New Orleans. Can’t wait to dig in.

5. The Joy of Missing Out by Tonya Dalton

The tag line on this book is “Live more by doing less.” I need this in my life. I am dreadfully overwhelmed most of the time, even though I push through. I’m always looking for how other moms do or don’t do it all and why.

So that’s what’s on my October Reading List!  Hopefully, I get through all of them. Especially since I’ve got fall break ( pookah is off of school) and a vacation smack dab in the middle of the month.

What are you reading this month? Have you read any of these?

I love how your list contains different genres. These books sound quite good. I will have to check them out. The modern Alice in Wonderland telling looks quite good! Good luck getting through all of them. I look forward to hearing your thoughts on them.
