I’ve been training for the Disney Princess Half Marathon for the last 3 months. I haven’t shared much because I wasn’t sure if I could do it…..
So I spend the last week being lazy. That is, instead of running/training for the Disney Princess Half Marathon that is less than a month away, I sat on my tail and ate everything that passed in front on my face. Total fail. I finally talked myself into going for a run when I got my bib number for the race on Tuesday night. My alarm went off at my normal running time of 430 am and I talked myself out of it. But I put my running clothes on and as soon as I dropped off the boy at school, i headed to the gym. I got on the treadmill and warmed up. Bombs over Baghdad by Outkast came up and I started to run.
And I smiled.
It was the first time running, that I have felt that joy when running. Ask anyone and usually i say something like, i hate to run. But at that moment, after not running for a week, I felt such a JOY. I FINALLY, after 3 months felt that running high I’ve heard about and have been waiting for. And it was glorious. I ran again on Friday, thinking it might have been a fluke, but no. BOB came on and off I went, just grinning. Today, I am running 10 miles. TEN WHOLE MILES AT ONCE. I’ve never done that. EVER IN LIFE and didn’t ever think i would want to. It just goes to show me that the impossible is possible. So check me out on the Nike app while i’m running. I’ll be the one smiling.
UPDATED TO ADD: I only made it to 7 1/2 miles due to some unfortunate stomach issues that um….stopped the show….. WELP!

OMG you seriously rock! 10 miles???? Like, at once and not over several years like it would take me? LOL I'll be rooting you on from afar, that's a great accomplishment! I need to get my tail together and get back to working out myself.
