Sooooo.
I like to wash my hair.
And not being able to wash my hair these last two weeks has been killing me. And, my hair was starting to look…….unruly. My loctician did say that after two weeks, I could rinse it.
So, this is what I did:
Before I started, I mixed together Sea Breeze and Listerine in a spray bottle. I then sprayed it ONLY on my scalp. Left it on for about 10 minutes. Just tingling.
Then, I took a stocking cap, more like a wig cap, and covered my hair.
I then stood in the shower for about 15 minutes, just letting my hair and scalp get saturated.
I patted my hair dry with a towel and then retwisted some of the roots in the front with Jamaican Mango and Lime locking gel that I found in the Beauty Supply store. It smelled soooooo good. At the end of each loc that I retwisted, I put a clip to hold it down. And really, I only retwisted a few in the front, and several in the back. Then, I sat under the dryer until it was all dry.
I didn’t like the gel.
It left a white residue in my hair!!
And yes, I rinsed and started over.
But this time, I used Taliah Waajid’s Lock it Up gel.
No residue noted.
And it smells just as good!
This morning when I took my silk scarf off, it looked a little dry. But I put a little oil on my scalp, rubbed it in and it looks normal again. And not a hot, raggedy mess.
I mean I do have my limits.
Of course, I meant to take photos of these steps, but I forgot. Kept getting interrupted by the baby waking up when he wasn’t supposed to. 🙂
So, so far so good. I’m learning that this is a process folks. So far, it’s A-OK.
