Books for Spring Break or Shawn’s List of Half Read Books

Ahhh Spring break is upon us all! If you are going to be at the pool or on a roadtrip or simply at home with lots of time, I’ve got a great list of books for spring break. My goal this month with my reading list is to ONLY READ THE BOOKS ON THIS LIST. or rather, finish the books on this list before I buy or check out anymore.

Because as you will see below, most of the books are books that started..but have not finished.

Shame. Shame. Shame.

1. The Everlasting Rose

This is the sequel to The Belles that I read last year. While it wasn’t my favorite, I am curious about what happens next. Problem is, I keep starting and stopping and it’s on its last renewal from the library. Must finish…

2.The Mister by EL James

This the only newer book on my list this month.

Now, of course, you remember the Fifty Shades series right? Hmmmhmmmm.

So this is a new book that has nothing to do with that series, coming out later this month ( right after my birthday ) this is strictly a guilty pleasure book. I’m not trying to better myself, read something deep or learn the meaning of life here. Just some sex and basic writing. We all need that sometime right? LOL

3. An American Marriage By Tayari Jones

I tried to read this book three times last year. THREE TIMES.

My mother couldn’t put it down. Mimi loved it.  While I…could not get past the third chapter.

It irks me. So I’m trying again. If I don’t make it this time, I’m giving up for good.

4. On the Come Up by Angie Thomas

Once again!!! I got to the end of the first chapter and got distracted by shiny new things. It seems like it’s going to be good! Really it does LOL.

5. My Sister the Serial KillerBy Oyinkan Braithwaite

Ok, so I started reading this in January and I got distracted on page 62. So It’s on my list to finish this month.  I’m trying.

So, what books for spring break are you reading?

Ok listen. You have to finish My Sister The Serial Killer. You can do it in one sitting. It's only like 200 pages and you know the chapters are short. You can do it! I loved it so, so much.
