Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is Being Replaced By Disney After Hours Boo Bash.Find out everything you need to know about this event.
Every fall (almost) The Magic Kingdom hosts a special hard ticket after-hours event for Halloween. Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is so popular, that it seems to kick off earlier each year.
This year, even as things begin to return to normal, Disney is not quite running 100% the old way. Some changes were made to this year’s Halloween party, which may be why Disney changed the name to Boo Bash.
What’s in a name? Read on to find out everything you need to know about this (new?) after-hours event.
What Is Boo Bash?
Boo Bash is the new After Hours Halloween party taking place at the Magic Kingdom this year. It’s a three-hour event that starts at 9:00 or 9:30 depending on what night you go. You can arrive as early as 7:00 for a few extra hours before the event officially begins. While in the park, you can enjoy attractions with lower wait times and see the park in a whole new light. There are candy trails for kids and all kinds of confections and novelties made just for this seasonal event.
How Much Will Admission Be?
Tickets are available now to the general public on June 15. The event begins after hours on August 10th and runs until October 31 on select nights. The price of tickets depends on the date you attend with online prices starting at $129. Tickets on peak nights reach $199 each.
Typically the cheapest nights are the least attended which are weeknights and nights farther out from Halloween. The closer your event is to Halloween, the pricier and more crowded it will be. This is especially true on weekends in October and on Halloween night.
If you are a Disney Vacation Club Member visiting during August or September, you will receive a $10 discount on your ticket purchase.
How Will it Be Different From Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party?
There are a lot of similarities to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party and very few differences. In fact, it’s hard to tell what exactly warrants a complete name change.
The new event is still an after-hours event. It still features candy trails, costumed characters, and special snacks and beverages as well as Halloween decor and ambiance. The only real difference is that the characters and entertainment this year are significantly pared down. There’s Goofy, Chip n’ Dale, Fowlfellow, Gideon, and some Haunted Mansion characters, as well as the Cadaver Dans for musical entertainment.
There are no stage shows for the event and there are cavalcades in place of the usual Boo to You Parade.
One positive change is the updated Photopass options and Magic Shots you can get as souvenirs of your evening.
How Do I Get Into Disney After Hours Boo Bash?
You can purchase tickets online for your preferred date, or you can try your luck at the gate and pay a little bit more. Although costumes are encouraged for all ages at this event, there are specific safety guidelines Disney expects you to follow.
If you go against the costume policy or other guidelines put forth by the Walt Disney Company, you may be refused admission, even if you have a ticket, so review the costume guidelines carefully to make sure you are compliant.
