Grocery shopping. Either you love it or you hate it. And if you have kids, do you really want to drag yourself AND the kids to the grocery store to go get groceries? So what do you do if you don’t want to or simply CAN’T leave the house to go grocery shopping?
You shop online and have groceries delivered.
There are a variety of services available to those of us who don’t have the time or the inclination to go INTO the grocery store.
A lot of you have been hesitant using these services, so I thought I’d break down the 5 Best Places to Buy Groceries Online when you can’t or won’t leave the house.

InstaCart
I’ll start with my favorite place to buy groceries online!! Instacart allows you to order from a variety of your favorite supermarkets( Publix, Aldi, Whole Foods Kroger to n and other stores near you ( Like CVS and Petco) .
How Does it Work?
After you create an account and see the stores near you, you can start shopping.
I love that after you have been shopping a while, it knows your favorites and you can even re-order the same order.
But what if your item is out of stock? Insta cart does anticipate this and you may choose to list acceptable substitutions or say do not replace if you need a specific brand.
Next, you can choose your delivery time window. Delivery can be within two hours depending on the time of day it is or how busy it is. You can also pick a delivery date if you do your shopping on a specific day.
Is there a fee?
Yes! And it depends on WHEN you order. For one hour Delivery, the cost is $7.99. For two hours or more delivery, the cost is $5.99. If you pay the $149 fee for the express delivery, you can get free two hour delivery on orders $35 or more.
Tips are added automatically, but you can adjust.
Amazon Fresh
One thing: You have to be an Amazon Prime member in order to take advantage of Amazon Fresh. But it’s a great option as a place to buy groceries online!
How Does it Work?
Prime members can order organic, fresh produce, meat, seafood, prepared meals, and more. And you can shop Whole Foods specifically.
How Much Does it Cost?
Starting in October of last year, Amazon decided that it would no longer charge a $14.99 monthly fee for Amazon Fresh on top of your prime membership. So if you are paying for Amazon Prime, the Amazon Fresh subscription is included.
Shipping is free with orders over $35 and anything less has a $10 delivery fee.
Walmart Grocery Delivery
Yes, Walmart will actually deliver your groceries! I feel like I just found out that I could pick them up. Imagine my surprise to find out that they deliver too.
How Does It Work?
You can shop online at Walmart.co or use your Walmart Grocery App. Find a location near you and choose a delivery time that’s good for you.
What I really like is that it’s not just groceries. I can order laundry detergent, soap, toilet paper, paper towels and more!
How Much Does it Cost?
There is a minimum order of $30 with a $10 delivery fee of $7.95 to $9.95. OR you can get unlimited free delivery for $98 a year.
Shipt
Shipt is on my list to try next! Mainly because Shipt offers delivery of products from major grocery chains across the nation, including CVS, Publix, Kroger, Fry’s, H-E-B and Target!
How Does it Work?
Shipt is similar to InstaCart, but what intrigues me is that you can get your groceries delivered as quickly as one hour after ordering! If something isn’t available or an order needs to be adjusted, you can easily communicate with your shopper by text on the app.
How Much is it?
Pricing is based on a subscription. You can choose a monthly subscription for $14 a month which is great if you just want to try it out one month, or you can go ahead and pay for the year at $99. There is STILL a minimum order of $35 for free shipping. Anything below $35 is $7.
Boxed
Boxed specializes in the delivery of bulk groceries and household items. You can select your delivery time; deliveries usually arrive within 1-3 days.
How Does It Work?
It’s simple. It’s bulk delivery to your door. If you want to buy your milk, eggs, fruit, and veggies in bulk too, then you can schedule a delivery with Boxed Express.
How Much Does it Cost
Unlike others, there is no membership fee for Boxed. To get free shipping, the minimum purchase is $49. Anything less than $49, charged $6.99 for shipping.

Instagram has truly developed and has made it easy for grocery products online shopping .I love the fact that I can literally message / comment down and get my queries about online shopping solved .
