1.The Nifty 50: Canon 50mm f/1.8 Lens

Every year, I spend a lot of time recommending this lens( seriously). When you are ready to move your photography to the next level, this is the first lens I always suggest and this is the lens( or the Nikon Version) to start with. It’s a prime lens, which means that zoom with your feet rather than your camera. But it will CHANGE the quality of your photos. And it’s cheap.

I KNOW you know about Brandon Stanton and his book the Human’s of New York. The Facebook page is full of inspiring stories behind the photos. Now, he’s compiled them in a wonderful book.  It just makes you feel good.

I am a lover of Clickin Moms. I’ve learned so much about photography and made great friends from being on the forums and taking the photography classes.  Give someone the gift of a membership or Christmas. I promise, they will thank you.

Listen. I am Team Canon. But one of my favorite photographers recently switched to this camera from Canon and another of my favorite photographers shoots with this camera also. Let’s just say I’m intrigued…and it would be a wonderful Christmas gift…….

And because I’m LOYAL! LOL. If I ever upgrade my Canon 6D, it will be to this one. Cause…all those focal points….

9. Black Rapid RS-7 Camera Strap

The strap that comes with your camera is garbage. And that’s nothing but truth. It hurts. It makes you not want to carry around your camera for long periods of time. But I’ve taken my Canon to Disney, to San Francisco, to the park with no problems with this strap. It’s perfect and its safe.

 

10.Canon EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS Lens

I rented this lens last year when we went to San Francisco. It is the perfect travel lens. Seriously, if you are going and you want to be prepared for anything, GET THIS LENS! It’s on my to do list for next year.
