Anytime I have to host any kind of game day related shindig or need to bring something to one, I bring these Gluten Free Ham and Cheese Sliders. Why? Because not only are they extremely easy to make, but it helps to make sure that there is always somethig for my son to eat.
Made with Gluten Free Hawaaiian Rolls, melted swiss cheese and juicy ham, these are a favorite for cookouts, game day parties, kids parties, super bowl sunday and more.
These are so good that there are NEVER EVER any leftovers because people just can’t tell that they are gluten free.
Ingredients needed for this recipe
You don’t need much for this recipe. if you have teens you most likely have most of these already in your house. Measurements and ingredient amounts found in the recipe card below.
- Gluten Free Hawaiian Rolls : You can of course, make your own Gluten free rolls. But I usually don’t have time or energy for that so I always pick up the Gluten Free Hawaiian Rolls from Canyon Bakehouse. They are excellent and can be found online and in most grocery stores.
- Swiss Cheese : This is a classic but you can always use Provolone or white Cheddar.
- Ham: Regular Deli ham is perfect for this recipe.
- Mayo: for flavor!
- Butter, Dijion Mustard, Poppy Seeds and Minced Onions : These ingredients mixed into a glaze is the thing that takes these sliders to the next level. Don’t leave them out!
How to Make Gluten Free Slider Buns Step by Step
- Prepare your Buns: Cut the slider buns in half. Place the bottom halves in a baking dish.
- Assemble your Sliders: Spread mayonnaise on the buns. Layer Swiss cheese, ham and Swiss cheese on top. Cover with the top halves of the buns.
- Make and Apply the Glaze: In a bowl, mix together melted butter, Dijon mustard, minced onion, poppy seeds.Brush the glaze generously over the top of the sliders, making sure to cover them evenly.
- Bake: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 15 minutes. Then, remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes, or until the tops are lightly browned and crispy.

Can the sliders be prepared ahead of time?
Yes yes yes!!! That’s what makes this recipe so easy and perfect. They are easy to prepare 1-2 days ahead! Simply assemble your sliders and leave off the topping( so that the sanwhiches don’t get soggy) .
When you are ready to serve, brush them with the poppy seed topping and bake as directed.
How to store and reheat sliders
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge. Th reheat, simply place the sliders back in the oven on 350 degrees until warm

- ½ lbs thinly sliced cooked ham
- 12 slices Swiss cheese

- 1 tbsp poppy seeds
