Holiday Gift Guide for the The Photographer

TOP 10 TIPS (2)
IT’S THAT TIME FOLKS!!

I’ve compiled  a Holiday Gift Guide full of wonderful things that all the photographers in your lives will LOVE.  Including  things that YOU might want to add to your own christmas list! So without further ado:

1.  Eye Fi Wireless Flash Memory Card.

This wonderful card lets you upload JPEGS AND RAW files right from your camera to your computer, smartphone, or tablet using WiFi! You can even install watch folders in Photoshop and Lightroom to automatically import them into the programs and apply presets!  This is like…convience personified folks! GET IT!

2.  50 1.8 lens for Canon or the Nifty Fifty

If you own a Canon, get a 50 1.8 lens! This lens was my first SERIOUS lens after I got my Canon Rebel.  It CHANGED everything for me as far as photography is concerned. This prime lens is a great investment for $100.  Don’t think, just run to it!

3. Expodisc

If white balance is something that you struggle with, run don’t walk to get yourself an Expodisc. I love this so much that I reviewed on myself on this post.  It makes getting your images just right in camera the easiest thing ever.  Get one.

4.  Black rapid strap for women

I love my Black Raid Strap.  This is what made carrying my Canon  7D around Disney a non issue.  It hangs securely at your side, is comfortable, light weight, and the women’s version fits ALL of your curves

5. External Hard Drive

Don’t think, just get it! Every photographer needs a place to back up their photos! Don’t make the mistake and think your photos are safe on your hard drive! And external hard drive is an affordable solution vs the alternative of loosing all of your memories

6.  Epiphanie Camera Bags

Looking for a stylish camera bag that can double as a purse, check out Epiphanie Bags by photographer Maile Wilson. Pick one, pick any of them. They are all fabulous.

7. FujuFilm’s Instax Mini 8 Instant Film Camera.

You remember Polaroid cameras? And getting an instant photo right then and there? This cute pink camera is the updated digital version of that. I know it’s on my want list!

8.  Beyond Snapshots by Rachel Divine and Peta Mazy.

This is one of my absolute FAVORITE books about photography. This book is about taking your camera off of auto, and documenting your everyday life like a pro. Loooove it.

9. Sony DSC-QX100 Smartphone Attachable Lens-style Camera

For your serious smartphone camera lovers out there, get this lens RIGHT HERE. Simply attach this lens to any smartphone and you can transform your smartphone into a professional camera.   I mean, it’s a Carl Zeiss lens with a 1.8 aperture. If I had this lens, I might seriously consider leaving my Canon at home. All the time….

10. Lightroom 5.

If I’ve said it once I’ve said it several times, if you don’t have Lightroom, RUN and get it. Not only will it help you to organize all of your photos, but it will help you edit your photos and show them to the world in record time! Don’t think, just get it!

That’s the end of my list.  I hope I’ve provided you with some great ideas for the photographer in your life, or for your very own Christmas list! Enjoy!
