Letters to My Son: Today you are 9.

Dear Pookah,

Today you are Nine years old.2018-11-25_0006.jpg

I remember the first moment I heard you cry. I knew you would be feisty.

And when they finally laid you in my arms, I looked down and said there you are. There is my baby.

Well…you aren’t a baby anymore.

You love mohawks, choosing your own clothes,  pizza, Jordans, Youtube, Minecraft and math.

You are kind, you are smart, you are a joy to be around.

Oh, you give me some moments, and try my patience every single day with the logical way you try to get your way!

But most of it is growing pains as we all navigate dealing with these tween years I guess.

You are the beat of my heart, you are the joy in my life. You are my second chance after I thought there might not be another. You are my miracle.

My rainbow baby.

You are our light. Our Joy. Our gift from God

My proof that this too shall pass, that God always has a plan and that everything happens for a reason.

So today, on this your 9th birthday, I’m wishing you a wonderful joy filled day.  I can’t wait to see how you grow and mature in the next year.

I love you.
