A Mommy-Son Day Out

You know, Pookah and I rarely get to spend time alone anymore, or have Mommy and son dates like we used to. Between school, work, football, Birthday parties every.single.weeekend….there has been no us time.  Oh we spend time together, going to school, doing the dreaded homework, but nothing FUN just us two. I think it’s so important to take the time to connect with our kids. To just get on their level just the two of you.

Our Mommy-Son Dates happen a lot more often in the Summertime, when there is no school and warm weather is a perfect excuse to get out there. But since School started, we’ve been missing our time.

So about a month ago, when I learned he would be off of school Monday, I took the day too. And we just hung out doing whatever he wanted to do

We hung out in the morning,

We ate at his favorite pizza joint for lunch…

AND we went to the movies.

I was SO tired by the end of it and he was still going! By the end of our day, I knew I wouldn’t feel like cooking, so I decided to drop by Zoës Kitchen  for dinner to go.

We LOVE  Zoës! I love how the food feels like a fresh home cooked meal, but it’s fast and convenient too.

And as a mom, I appreciate the variety of made-from-scratch, healthful options of the new Expanded Kids menu.  There are Gluten Free Options!!!

I feel like a great mom when I feed Pookah with ingredients that I trust and flavors that he loves.  Because ya’ll KNOW how hard it is to get a picky eater to eat.  The new Zoës kids menu offers more choices and adventure for the more sophisticated palates of my boy. I’m always so surprised that he loves it!

And of course, I love it too, so it’s perfect! He can get his Grilled Chicken fingers, I can get my Mediterranean Chicken.
