Saturday was busy. I had no plans. No scratch that, my plan was to clean. But I ended up cleaning the kitchen, a bathroom and loading a load of clothes before C Dub insisted that we get out of the house.
I didn’t want to go. I had ventured out of the house earlier while the guys were at football practice to Target and Starbucks……..
and the plan was to come back home and fold the mountain of clothes growing in my guest bedroom.
But C Dub wanted to get out of the house…and well…all I need really is my cell phone charger and I’m happy to ride.
Pookah is starting flag football this month. I am not really sure how I feel about it in light of all of these football players passing out and dying in the head. And of course the history of concussions and injuries…but my child loves sports. Any sport. He will play anything if you give him a chance.
We tried all the local spots for gear, but due to a large foot ( side eye to my child)…we were unable to find anything where we normally would.
But a quick trip to Dicks in Buckhead got us what we needed( I swear, that place is like church for the sports minded person)
We had dinner at Yeah Burger in Virginia Highlands. I love that place. I discovered it a while ago, but didn’t go because Pookah really wasn’t interested in gluten free burgers. But lately, he’s been obsessed with trying onion rings.
They’ve got gluten free onion rings, hamburger buns, hot dogs, fries…so basically something for ALL of us.
Afterwards, we went to Piedmont park to walk it off, where they played football and tag while I sat in the shade and took photos and people watched.
Piedmont park is perfect for that.
It was a good Saturday.
And while I was enjoying my day, I found myself documenting it. And loving it. And thinking…it’s time to bring back my Saturdays project.
With a twist.
If you are just finding this post, last year, I did a photography project where every Saturday for a year, I documented our day strictly with my iPhone. It was a lot of work, but I miss doing it.
I live in Atlanta. I love it here. We are always enjoying SOMETHING happening in our town, and I want to share that with you guys.
So Saturdays…in the Atl… is back!
I don’t know yet if I will do this every weekend, or just once a month, I’m trying not to put a lot of pressure on myself this time.
But I can’t wait to show you my city!!!
