So when my son was first diagnosed with a gluten allergy, I spent a lot of time learning how to make everything at home because I was simply afraid to feed him anything that I wasn’t 100% sure of.
Is Salsa Gluten Free?
But good news! Most store-bought salsa brands are naturally gluten-free. Some salsa brands can have minor ingredients that contain gluten ( like vinegar) and cross-contamination can occur.
So me being me, I wanted guarantees that I wouldn’t have any cross-contamination, so enter my attempts to make “safe” salsa at home.
It wasn’t hard at all!
So today, I’m going to share my own salsa recipe . Scoop this up with Gluten Free tortilla chips, top on some grilled veggies or meat or store in the fridge and use as a condiment for practically anything!

Ingredients Needed for this Recipe:
- Roma tomatoes
- Red onion
- Jalapeno peppers
- Lime juice
- cilantro
- salt
- black pepper
How to Make Homemade Gluten-Free Salsa
- Dice the tomatoes onions and cilantro and set aside.
- Cut your lime in half, set aside.
- Chop the jalapeno.( make sure you wear gloves so you don’t contaminate your eyes. Ask me how i know…) Set aside
- In a medium bowl, add the diced tomatoes, diced onion, chopped jalapeno, chopped cilantro, the juice of the lime and season with salt and pepper. Mix until well combined.
Serve with gluten free tortilla chips and enjoy!

- 1 lime juiced
- 2 tbsp cilantro chopped
- ¼ salt or to taste,
- ¼ black pepper or to taste
