Want to know how to plan your month in 4 hours or less? Today, I’m going to share 5 Things to do at the end of the month that will help you prepare and be organized for the next. It doesn’t have to be hard to get organized!
Do you take time to prepare for the next month or do you just wing it? If you are flying by the seat of your pants and winging it month to month and not actually getting anything done, this post is for you!
Even if you think you are doing well with organizing your life, today I’m going to show you how to plan your month in 4 hours or less.
So how do you get started? During the last week of the month, carve out a few hours, grab yourself a notebook, your calendar and a cup of coffee and settle down to do these tasks at the end of every month. To help you to plan for the next.
How to Plan Your Month in 4 Hours or Less
1. Set Monthly Goals
The first thing you should do when planning for the next month is to set goals. Is there a deep cleaning project around the house that you want to complete? Professional goals? Is there a new habit you want to develop? A book you want to read?
I’ve found that having no more than 3 goals for the month is really helpful to help you complete your goals and not be overwhelmed.
Write your goals down and then, create a plan to complete each of them. Because a goal without a plan…is just a wish.
2.Review your budget for the coming month
Even if you don’t have any financial goals for the year, you still need to review your budget for the month. Knowing where your money is going is important.
Questions to ask yourself:
- Is your current budget working for you?
- Are you planning any big purchases in the month to come?
- Are you over or under budgeting in some areas?
- Is there something big you are saving for?
- Are you traveling and need extra money for that?
Make changes as needed to help you stay on track.
3. Schedule all of your appointments
Take a look at your calendar/planner for the upcoming month. What do you already have scheduled? What do you NEED to schedule? I’m thinking of your annual Dr’s appointments, appointments with your therapist, teeth cleaning, your children’s appointments etc. Take the time and schedule them all right then and then PUT THEM IN YOUR PLANNER as soon as you make them.
Also, make sure you are aware of any birthdays, anniversaries, and things at your children’s school. Make sure you record them all and set alerts and reminders so that you don’t forget!
4.Block out time for friends/family and date night
Make time for family and friends. And significant others. Schedule and send invitations for date night, or schedule a lunch with your friend that you only text.
Think about what family activities you have planned for your family and plan and schedule that, blocking off time so that you don’t schedule anything else at that time.
5.Schedule your self-care
Don’t forget about scheduling time for yourself. For fun or for rest. Schedule one activity just for you. It could be a massage, a pedicure, reading a book, or a day of doing absolutely nothing.
Just because we live busy lives doesn’t mean you block off and plan time for you and your self-care. When the reminder shows up in your calendar, you will be so glad that you did!
These 5 steps at the end of the month can really help you to prepare for the next month in 4 hours or less. And as you get into the routine of doing it every month, it will start to take you even less time!
And that is how to plan your month in 4 hours or less! Hopefully, these tips will help you! Questions?
